mandarin chinese restaurant baguio city review

Mandarin Restaurant Review Baguio City, along Session Road

Positive Aspects: if you are looking for authentic Chinese and Filipino infused dishes then this is the place to go. They have been around for several years now and have loyal customers. The food is sumptuous, great tasting, well prepared. The staff is also friendly especially the cashier and there is plenty of seats to choose from.
I especially love the beef broccoli dish with sauce as shown in the picture. I also love the salad with apples avocado and sweet milk, as well as the brewed coffee with unlimited Alaska Milk, and the affordable rice toppings and soups from 45 to 85 pesos, with large servings. I love the Chorizo and Chinese sausage as well as the authentic Century eggs. The lechon rice and other rice toppings are great as well as the soup, they have certainly mastered Chinese recipes.
Negative aspects: the place is really old looking, the table cloths are in desperate need of change, the place needs more decoration and it would be better if the 55 salad would become 45 or just 40 to be fair. The place needs renovating in order to compete with other restaurants, but over all the place is still good. They just have to consider that some guests would prefer good food and great ambiance as well. They seriously have to locate the ice cream refrigerator somewhere else.
By the way during the Flower Festival parade it would be best to reserve a seat here and be able to enjoy the view of Session Road- that is if you like seeing the busy street.
Grade: B

hodori korean restaurant review

Hodori Korean and Japanese Restaurant Review:  Baguio City

Hodori Restaurant is the best Restaurant in Baguio City.
why? the ambiance is perfect for family and friends, you can hang out all you want and there is lots of food to go around.
Positive aspects: Budget friendly: For 1000 pesos be able to eat to your hearts content.
Be able to enjoy unlimited appetizers  for free as shown in the picture they give you 4 to 6 unlimited appetizers, sweet and spicy, a bit salty..over all delicious and healthy. The appetizers alone can make you feel satisfied, you are guaranteed to enjoy your time with friends. Do not worry if you are not fond of spicy foods you can request them to serve you beef and meat that is just mildly spicy or with no spice at all.
Korean and Japanese food are some of the best in the world, they are fulfilling, satisfying, complete with nutrients due to the even distribution of vegetables and meat. Hodori has wonderful seafood dishes, side dishes, sizzling plates, and they offer fantastic selections that will defeat all food franchise in Baguio, in short they have all the kinds of meat that you want to eat. I especially love the free soup, they taste very exquisite, my boyfriend and I love their sweet and sour chicken as well as their bulgogi and omo rice with catsup, You will also love their salad selections. we have tried at least 12 different dishes in that place. I guarantee that you would not need a second helping of rice because you would be feasting on fantastic vegetable and meat selections.
I did not even mind the noisy Korean customers in the restaurant, obviously we are all too busy enjoying the food.
The restrooms are clean, they have a good cook, and over all good service! Love this place, you can definitely impress tourists, balikbayans and friends in this Restaurant, located near Mabini Street. near Tiongsan.  they closed down their branch at Session road and is now at a cozier location.  You can take 8 to 10 people with you and feel satisfied with the service and the price, i give this restaurant a whopping A+.

forest house restaurant baguio city review

  •   Forest House Restaurant
  • 16 Loakan Rd | SW of Camp John Hay, Baguio, Luzon, Philippines
  • (074) 447 0459
  •  Positive aspects: The ambiance is superb,  if you want to get away from the traffic and busy streets of Baguio and take some wonderful pictures with you, feel the country style and the scenery, then this is the place to go.
  • Negative aspects: The food really sucked, I mean it literally sucks. Aside from the food being very expensive around 300 per plating, there was nothing special with it, the food tastes bland and you can definitely cook better meals at home, we were honestly disappointed with the food, it does not match the price at all. I would rather eat 45 peso meals that eat this 300 peso boring and unsatisfying meal, aside from the meat being overcooked, there were no distinct spices from it, I honestly think that they have no chef or its just that the chef they hired---is the worst cook ever.
  • Grade: I give this restaurant a D- and will not recommend this for tourists. The wine corkage is too expensive, they will literally charge you absurd prices for their wine, go to SM and check the prices of the wine, they sell 300 peso wines and turn it into 1500-2000 peso wines, talk about customer rip-off.
  • I have dined their a year ago and never came back, i do hope they make changes. Big changes.

Kitaro sushi located at SM Baguio review

Kitaro Sushi is a Japanese restaurant that has started in the Philippines in 1999, since then it has had several branches all over the country including one in Baguio City.
They serve Tempura, California Maki, Ramen and Teriyaki and has added different types of Japanese inspired food to their menu.

My family and I have eaten in this restaurant several times already and I am here to give an honest review regarding Kitaro Sushi.

Positive Aspects: The chicken bento as well as the shrimp bento is exquisite, they have distinct taste and it is safe to say that they have one of the best California maki in Baguio City.
They also have an unlimited iced tea offer for a very affordable price only 45 pesos considering that other restaurants would have 65 or more.
The location is good, clean and is prepared well for customers and you can also choose to dine out and see the view of Burnham Lake.  I have tasted several dishes about 5 of them and I was generally impressed with all of them, the taste of the food is really Japanese inspired and some of the dishes tasted like Korean dishes.

The score I give this franchise is B+

Negative aspect of Kitaro Sushi: The price, it is not too friendly compared with other Philippine food franchise, due to this I think they would have a hard time getting noticed, their bento box prices start at 125 and the serving of the rice, is too small. it will not make a grown man feel full, the only thing good about it is that they are really using genuine Japanese rice which tastes really soft and yummy.

The unlimited red tea is too sweet, much of it contains sugar rather than the tea so i guess they are still considered bad despite the price.
The food is great, the omelet too however I have the same worry over the serving quantity, it is too small and because of this Filipinos would generally despise going back to the place, they can get the same omelet and bento box from other prices for half the price.
however if you are a foreigner I believe that you would be impressed with the price. The style of the dishes is not that artistic but the vegetables they use tastes fresh to me, well considering that Baguio City supplies the PHilippines with this vegetables.

I will not recommend it if you are on a tight budget. But I would recommend it to people who want a change of menu once in a while. You need to prepare 500 pesos if there would be two of you dining, 250 at least if you are the only person eating and 1500 and up for a group of 3-4.  ( review good for the year 2011-2012) prices are always subject to change.
